India's Economy Grows at Slowest Pace in Over a Year
India's economy grew at its slowest pace in over a year in the first quarter of 2023, according to data released by the government on Monday.
The economy grew by 4.1% in the quarter, down from 4.7% in the previous quarter. This is the slowest pace of growth since the fourth quarter of 2021.
The slowdown in growth is being attributed to a number of factors, including a decline in manufacturing output and a slowdown in investment.
The government has said that it is taking steps to boost growth, including by increasing spending on infrastructure and by simplifying tax laws.
